Dell cordless keyboard and mouse problems

Question

Hi, I purchased a Dell Dimension 4700 (desktop) a few years ago and it came with a Dell cordless mouse and keyboard.  I just purchased a Dell XPS laptop and a Logitech cordless keyboard and mouse.  I want to use the Logitech (new one) on my Dell Dimension 4700 and I tried to plug in the old Dell cordless mouse and keyboard to my daughter's old computer - and HP Pavillion 750 - so she could have cordless too.  It does not work and it has one USB cord.  Do I need to download a driver for this?  How can I get this to work?  Sorry this is so long and sorry if this is a dumb question!  Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

TnTB   No offense taken.   Actually the Dell drivers should work just fine on the HP if both the Dell and HP have the same operating system, like Windows XP.   MD

Thank you for your advice.  I did try the disc that came with my new Logitec keyboard and mouse.    I guess I thouht this would be the correct forum because I have purchased only Dell computers (the HP was given to my daughter) from Dell.com and have spent thousands on them.  And the cordless keyboard and mouse were Dell, from my current Dell desktop.  Sorry if I offended, didn't mean to!  I thought maybe someone else may have had this issue.   My apologies.  And thanks again for the advice.

TnTB   You are trying to use a Dell branded input product on an HP Pavilion computer.   I am not suggesting that they are incompatilble, but I do suggest that this is not the correct forum for the resolve.     You might try a generic wirless driver like one for a Logitec.   MD

Thanks Md, appreciate it!   They are the same operating system, so I will try to find a Dell driver and see if that works. (I don't have the disc anymore)   Thanks again, TtTB

You can find the drivers online at Dell Technical Support, Downloads & Drivers. Do a search for the keyboard drivers. When installing the new usb devices, normally you need to install the drivers first before plugging in the hardware.
