Dell Dimension E310 slow running

This was purchased in Jan'06.  I know it is old, but so am I.  Is there any way to speed this thing up.  My wife complains about slow to access internet and I just plain find it slow.  only as 512MB memory and at the time I bought this, that was an upgrade.

Hi, Your system specks HERE

say you can get 2GB of memory in, that's a start. But,  giving it a spring clean, by removing all old files and ptograms you dont use, and defrag your hard drive, will also help. Also go into msconfig, and untick all the programs that you dont want to bootup with the system, will also speeden the bootup.

The E310 will take 2x2GB PC2-5300 DIMMs. I know because I've just pulled 2x1GB out and put the 2GB chips in. BIOS sees them, no problem. Windows XP (I have Media Center) however will only see 3GB.
