DELL one 2320 Touch Screen Not Working......

Ok as the titles says I have a Dell One 2320 and the touch screen is not working. Its brand new and from the outlet. I purchased it as a touch screen unit.

I have use Use finger as touch checked.

I have tried to use the Configure Option as per this post.

The screen is unresponsive. There are at least 3 posts on this thread that have exactly the same problem but no answer is ever given. Its either a common problem or I am a common fool.

http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3514/p/19456063/20137487.aspx#20137487

Also it mentions a Pen allot. I assume it should have come with a touch pen to use? it didnt.

I would love someone who had this problem and got a solution? Is it something Dell support can sort out as I did have afirmware problem with a new laptop i got 5 years ago and they fixed it very quickly over the internet. I know my computers but in my opinion I shouldnt I just wanted to make sure before I contacted them directly.

Hi mikki1664,

I’d suggest that you follow the steps mentioned below and check for issue resolution.

  1. Switch off the computer.
  2. Disconnect the power cable from the wall.
  3. Press and hold down the power button for 15 seconds.
  4. Then connect back all the peripherals and check if the touch screen is working.

Secondly, I would advise that you refresh the drivers for the touch screen by going into the device manager. Please follow the steps mentioned below.

1.    Open ‘Device Manager’ by clicking the Start button . In the search box, type ‘Device Manager’, and then, in the list of results, click ‘Device Manager’.
2.    When the device manager pops up, in the list please check for ‘Mice and other pointing device’ and ‘Human Interface devices’.
3.    Please click on the arrow mark beside ‘Mice and other pointing device’ and ‘Human Interface devices’.
4.    Right click on the touch screen device and select Uninstall.
5.    Restart the computer and check for issue resolution.

Also, you can restore the BIOS to defaults and check for issue resolution.

Please let me know if this helps.

I have an Inspiron One 2320 also with a touch screen issue.  Dell Tech Support doesn't have a clue how to reslove the issue.  Check out Microsoft KB 240564.  Dell Tech Support never referenced it.  Contacted Microsoft Support and there is still no resolution to the issue.
