Dell PC Restore Windows 7
Dell provides for a PC Restore facility to restore the Factory settings on their Computers. My question is if this facility is used, PC Restore is used Will it format the complete hard diisk or just format the Primary partition and leave alone the Secondary Partition. I want to know because I want to save My data on Secondary partition and use PC Restore for Primary Partition only. Any experts from Dell or on Dell...Please clarify.....

See THIS from Dell on using PC Restore in Windows 7, it may answer your question. Some of it depends on your PC Model.

The true layout is diag then 10 gig then the rest.
The C: drive as you know it is actually the 3rd partition.
The D: drive with recovery has files on it that prevent you from seeing whats there.
It DOES format the Data portion aka the Rest of the drive.
You Should get a big USB flash or WD Passport type drive to put your data on.
The F8 restore for VISTA and WIN7 is not related at all to the CTRL F11 Symantec restore for XP.
