Dimension 3000 Gaming

Does anyone knoew first hand if the Dimension 3000 could handle a lot of games, such as Half Life 2. Maybe with upgraded RAM? I want to able to play games, but I think the Dimension 3000 is the only one that's in my price range.

Wait for a great Dell promotion or coupon from the below sites...You will never be happy with the entry level Dim 3000 system for those games you want to play....Save more money and don't get too impatient to purchase, that you will have to live with for awhile...

The Dimension 3000 could possibly handle games at their lowest settings with a PCI graphics card.

Go with at least a 4700. You can get that with a PCI-Express graphics card for under $1000.

I play UT 2004 with my X800 Pro with everything turned up to max and it is awesome, no problems here at all. :smileyvery-happy:

what kind of radeon card are u thinking about

the radeon 9800pro can maybe handle half-life full setting but it WILL lag in medium firefights(it lags in ut2004 full settings in EXTREMELY action packed invasion and 32-man instagib games), if you got the cash to spare (not an extreme amount, $100 probab) you should go with any x800 core, those were ATI's 18 month full-core revision and are supposed to be tons better.

dont go for anything below a 9800, those cards are bad
and also, if u wanna play games, i wouldnt reccomend a dell, the gaming dells are *cough*overpriced. www.ibuypower.com is good and i can configure a comp with a Geforce 6800+ULTRA+ for $1500 which is VERY cheap (the ultra's $500), and i might get it.
