Dimension 3000 needs your help
Hello, problem...autochk program not found, skipping autochk. could not boot to anything went to autochk not found...
tried to boot to windows cd...but password required...followed user manual password reset pins 1,2/ 2,3 jumper...
now cd-rom not installed...cannot boot to cd.
how do i get computer to recognize cd???

Hi Fredipuppy,
You have reset the BIOS defaults. Boot to the BIOS (F2) and make sure your hard drive and DVD drive are set to auto. This will probably be primary drive 0 for the hard drive, and secondary drive 0 for your DVD.
Try this after you get that straightened out. Boot the computer and tap F8 to get the advanced boot menu. Try last known good configuration.

thanks, that's an improvemen cd recognizedt....after restart and windows start up get autochk not found....restart f12 boot to cd...,
now back to administrator password...unknown
previously went to reset clear password lost cdrom which you fixed, thx
It seems booting to windows cd repair will always prompt for password...any ideas?

All Drives must be set CABLE Select.
