1.) Unplug the computer entirely
2.) Place it on its side so that the side which has a screw in the back is facing up
3.) Unscrew the screw
4.) Gently push the side of the case backward until it moves backward a bit
5.) Pick the side up and remove it.
AND THEN MAKE SURE THAT YOU STAND THE COMPUTER BACK UP BEFORE WORKING ON IT.
(And I do not know if my directions are accurate... They are from a few different systems.)
My Dim3000 has a latch (for lack of a better word) on the back all you have to do is slide the latch and pull the side cover off, to get the front cover off just push in the latchs inside the unit and rotate it off, BTW you should have all this info in the users manual which is on the HD
