Dimension 4600 (Startup Issues)

I'm having some issues with my 2 year old dimension 4600 i think one of my friends may have messed up my BIOS a little bit whenever i go to turn on my computer now it says: "Primary Drive 1 not found Secondary Drive 1 not found Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility" this screen comes up after the Dell startup progress meter finishes (hangs for about 1 minute after bar fills then goes to this screen) any suggestions?

drain power from the computer by removing the power cable from the back of the computer > press and hold power button for 10 seconds > plug power cable back in > turn on computer.

if you will still get that error. go to your bios screen and reset your bios defaults.
> press F2 when booting up the computer
> in the bios screen press + to set bios defaults
> press ESC then save and exit.

I did this on a Dimension 8300.  I clicked on F but didn't get any message to confirm.  When I rebooted, I had a message about automatic IDE configuration which lasted 2 - 3 minutes.  Then the computer came up with no problems.  Thanks for the tip.
