Dimension 5000: BIOS will not load
My PC developed a problem out of the blue this morning when I switched it on:
The BIOS will not load. The DELL splash screen appears and the bar showing the progress of the BIOS loading does not get to the end.
This is all accompanied by a continuous high-pitched beeping noise.
Does anyone have any ideas about how to investigate/resolve this, please?

Check the power supply, it's generally the source of the problem, if it works, check yours rams.

Is the power button LED, solid green, blinking green, solid amber, blinking amber?
Check the sequence of the DIAGNOSTIC LIGHTS on the front panel of the case.

Thanks - I have unplugged and plugged back in the power supply.
The ptroblem is resolved at least for nwo. Dare I sday, what seemed to sort it out was a bit of bash on the side of the tower with my hand...
not sure waht this teel us about the problem - I guess ir does point towards a power supply issue.
