Do I need to update BIOS

I have a Dimension 4600.  My BIOS version is A03.  I don't have any problems but I have upgraded my PSU and vid-card.  If I do need to upgrade? which version of BIOS A08?  Thanks

Did you read the FAQ at the top of this forum? http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=dim_bios&message.id=23394

The general rule is - if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I have an 8250 computer with 256MHz 1066RD RAM memory  I am planning to replace the memory cards with 2-256MHz and on the page with the ordering of the memory card it suggests updating to latest BIOS. I currently have A01. My question is, is it necessary for me to do this. And two, do I jump from A01 to A04? Everything seems to be working great now, and I was just wondering if it was absolutely necessary to update it.

There is nothing mentioned in the BIOS update files that deals with memory issues for the 8250, so there is really no need to update the BIOS.  If you decide to do so anyway, you can update directly to A04, as the latest version always contains all previous updates.
