I updated my version of Direct X from 7.1 to version 8. Under the Direct X Diagnostic Tool when I click on the Network Tab I see four yellow exclamation marks under the heading Registered Direct Play Service Providers. What does this mean? An example of one of these is Direct Play8 TCP/IP Service Provider Error and the note says- The registry information for the service provider DirectPlay8 TCP/IP Service is missing or damaged. The other three messages are similar and listed as ...IPX Service Provider, Modem Service Provider, and Serial Service Provider. I have been all over the Microsoft Site looking for an answer. Please does someone have this knowledge from Dell Talk or can you suggest where I might find out this information. I am afraid I messed my computer up although everything so far seems to be working, including the Internet Connection.
