driver irql not less or equal

Question

the only usb items i have are the dell keyboard and mouse.  not sure what to do here, but please give me a hand...happens during online gaming about 10 or so times so far since i bought the system.  blue screen of death, getting annoying, please lend a hand.

Driver IRQ Less then or Equal usually means that a recent driver or drivers are conflicting between 2 or more hardware devices.   These can be either internal or external.   I would try a system restore to a time before you started seeing this, and if that doesnt work, go into Device manager and check all the IRQ devices and see if there are any conflicts. I called support, they walked me thru a few things, seems it may have been a nvidia driver. Went a few hours and no issues so far, see how it is the next few days.

I must say, I didnt get the guys name, but I must say, best tech support I have ever dealt with. Very knowledgeable, helpful and wasnt just wanting to get me off the phone to go put his feet up. Glad I bought a Dell, will recommend it in the future, thank you.

Dell's default drivers are good 'Basic ' Drivers, but often with high end gaming, improved drivers are required. www.omegadrivers.net has been a good source for gaming optimized drivers

Sometimes, newer drivers will fix the problem. If it doesnt then you will need to go through all the IRQ assigned devices and see if you can determine which 2 devices are causing a conflict.

You can usually find out in safe mode just in case you cant log into Windows before the blue screen.

I also had this issue and the dell techy insisted on the nvidia drivers but the filename on the blue screen indicated a creative Audigy 2 ZS drivers.

A complete reinstallation of the audio driver while running driver cleaner in between both in normal and in safe mode solved the issue.

The last couple of nights, no blue screen of death, will continue to test...I think this weekend I need extensive testing to prove this.  My wife may not agree but, she shouldnt have authorized the purchase of the computer:P

Well, spoke too soon, blue screen popped on me again.  Approximately 2 hours of game time, and Bad pool caller ***stop: 0x000000c2 (blah blah blah)  Checked around and found an article stating to turn off Hyper threading.  I dont really want to do that, but any suggestions on this?

I had a question and hate to ask this, how long has it been since you reformatted the harddrive?   I am usually the last person to initiate an Windows reinstall, however with all these IRQ errors I have a feeling thats it.   What do you think VC? I havent seen this error in a long time, since Windows 2000. The last time I saw it thought a reinstall fixed it. I wasnt able to narrow down the problem so I reinstalled.   Have you tried to run the computer in Safe mode at all and see if while using the computer the BSOD returns?   Guardian

No, since this has been happening pretty much since the day I booted up the computer, I figured that it was the way it was set up when it got to me.  Im off Friday, hopefully I can spend some time with Dell support and maybe we can get to the bottom of the issue.

Hmm, I would do the PC Restore before calling. Its possible you may have a corrupted image. Since the driver IRQ error is your problem they will probably have you do that anyway.   Just a thought, I hope your able to get the problem fixed.   Guardian
