drivers wont stop installing
i just purchased an xtasy 9200 pci video card for my dell dimension L433c. before installing it i removed my intel 810 chipset graphics driver. After installing the new card i was given 3 problems when i rebooted.
1- the cd that came with my new card would not work because of an missing DLL file ( im waiting for vision tek to respond with that problem)
2- the 810 chopset graphics driver i had removed earlier reinstalled itself along with a "default monitor"
3- in my display settings there are now two monitors shown. One with my new card on a dell E770 monitor and a Second one (disabled) with the 810 chipset on a "default monitor".
I have tried to remove the 810 chipset and default monitor more than once but whenever i restart my computer they reinstall themselves again leaving me with two monitors. The colors are all fine on my computer and i havent had time to try any of the new games but these double monitors and constantly reinstalling drivers worry me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure you disable your onboard graphics card in the BIOS.

isnt the 810 chipset the onboard graphics card?? I was told all i had to do was go into device manager, and under display adapters select "remove" on the 810 chipset.
If im wrong in any way please help me out.

* Open the case cover and add the replacement PCI video card
* Connect the monitor to the new video card
* Power on the system
* Tap the delete key several times at the blue Dell screen to enter setup
* When the System Setup screen appears, press the F9 key
* [press the Enter key] to confirm that you would like to load the defaults
* Right arrow to advanced
* Down arrow to Video Configuration [press the Enter key]
- Set to PCI to select a PCI video card as the primary video adapter
* Press F10 to save your changes and exit
If you choose to go the Device Manager route, choose disable, not remove.

I did what you said and found that my video settings already had PCI as my primary. So i went into device maager and disabled it like you said. Now when i reboot there are no more problems with the 810 chipset (thank you).
But in place of the reinstalling 810 chipset i now have a "Radeon 9200 SE Secondary" along with a "default monitor" just like it happened with the 810 chipset. I was told by Vision Tek to download the newest drivers of thier website due to the problems with the disk i was given with the card. The driver installs succesfully but i am prompted to restart my computer and wait for the driver to run a series of tests at the next reboot. When i restart, the tests begin but are stopped and canceled about 2 seconds later by the reinstalling "radeon 9200 se secondary" and the "default monitor".
I cant figure out what im doing wrong here. If you or anyone else has the slightest idea on what to do please respond-im willing to try anything to fix this problem for good.
