E-Mail - Microsoft Outlook

Question

For the past 3 days I haven't been able to receive messages. I've got 11 on cue. About 5 minutes after I hit send/receive, I get a mail delivery error with the following message: "A timeout occurred while communicating with the server.....Error Number: 0X800ccc19" Would appreciate any help in resolving this.

Are you using the Norton Antivirus E-mail protection? If so, go into Norton Antivirus and disable it. Then see check your e-mail account properties in Outlook and make sure that the proper server addresses are entered. I've had problems with Norton's e-mail protection that resulted in similar problems. So, I don't use this feature.

This is frequently associated with problems with the file pop3uidl.dbx. Go to Start|Find|Files or Folders and look for this file. When you find it, right-click and select Delete. When you start Outlook Express again it will generate a new pop3uidl.dbx file. You should then be able to download your messages from the server (and you may get some copies of messages you have already received).

My problem is different. I used to double click and open internet addresses within Outlook express (usually in blue) but last three days I can no longer do this. I also could open this Dell talk folder from Netscape but now all I get is a blank page. I'm able to open this using IE. Any suggestion? Thank you.

The problem with opening links from within OE (by single-clicking) is associated with a Virtual Machine problem. The Netscape/Delltalk problem is not your system, it is the implementation of this latest iteration of Delltalk, which I understand will not display in Netscape if you are trying to view frames.
