E-Support button won't work

Question

I recently installed WinXP, and after is was all said and done, I get this message: 'E-support button hardware won't work...CreateInstanceEnum( ) failed....' Any help? Thanks in advance! Scott

To get rid of the message first make sure that you have the latest version of the bios (XP2)

If that doesn't get rid of the message, install the old (not XP) version of the Dell Solution Center. That will install the driver for the device, but will not restore function. Since the ME version of the Dell Solution Center doesn't work in XP, you can uninstall it (the driver will be left behind).

Note that the XP version of the Dell Solution Center does not contain the driver, and is of little or no benefit.

Thanks for the help! In other words, the button will no longer work at all, right? I'll look for the new BIOS.
You may help with this - I lost these short-cut related programs: Express Service Code, Tell Me How? and User's Guides. How do I re-install these items?

The 'I-learn' program from Spire is on the Applications backup: Dell-Installed Programs CD. Check out the Dell Dimension Resource CD for documentation. All of the documentation on your system is available online using the Refrerence tab.

Prior to my upgrade from W2K-Pro to XP-Pro I had no problems, but after the upgrade I've had nothing but trouble. I upgraded my bios to XP2 and that did not fix the problem. I'm using DSC20A01 for the Service Center. Any ideas? How can I made the E-support button service message go away?
