E521 Graphics upgrade options

Hey, i have a e521 equipped fairly well an upgraded psu (620w) i had performed this upgrade to finally be able to have a bit of freedom in graphics card options. i currently have a 7300le which to be honest is rubbish, i need/want something with quite a lot of power to game.

A problem i have seen with certain graphics cards is that they have dual slot form factors which cannot be placed into an e521, i want to know what is the most powerful card i can put in an e521. i have seen a powercolor x1950 xt that has a single slot form factor

i have also looked at the 8600 gts series Which card is better? i have also thought about the possilblities of some cards being too long (as cpu plastic case thing might get in the way).

Is this a problem with the x1950 xt?
thanks and sorry for this post being overloaded

8600 GTS us the newer directx 10 card, but not very powerful.  The other card is better, but only directx 9.0.

Links you can click on to check on some video cards to compare the performance with other cards

I edont think its the most powerful but i used a XFX Geforce 7950gt Extreme edition in mine and it works great.  No cooloing problems and stock PSU

Thanks, both of you. Sorry it took me so long to post back, work was a problem That toms hardware link was much appreciated and i think i'm going to go for a more extreme route.

I'm going to get my tools out and water cool my system, which, i know comleteley defeats the point of a BTX design. i will be using a BFG watercooled 8800 (gtx) and will reort back soon with the results and pictures. The BFG card is single slot and only slight alterations (Cutting off the bottom hook things on the cpu shroud) need to be made, nothing a dremel can't fix. Hapst3r

ohh and yeah, if anyone has actually tried watercooling in a dell can you reply and tell me how much of a (physical) footprint it left in your machine. Thanks
