eZula file
I am running windows 98 se and have a Dell XTS 700. I have this program that keeps popping up down in my tray asking to be started. I haven't downloaded any new programs. The file name is eZula in the programs folder. Double click on it and it says install folder, i double click on it and it reads the following:
*** Installation Started 04/04/2002 22:55 ***
Title: eZula Installation
Source: C:\WINDOWS\EZINSTALL.EXE | 04-04-2002 | 22:55:14 | 128462
Made Dir: C:\Program Files\eZula
Installation Aborted!
I keep deleting the whole eZula folder but it keeps coming back. Under add/remove programs I find nothing by this name. Under my startup I find nothing by this name either. Why does it keep coming back after I keep deleting it? I've run my antivirus and it comes up clean. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

HERE and HERE.
I suggest you download and run AdAware to help clean it up and see what other little nasties you have on your computer.

You can read about it here, it is spy ware.

I would suggest getting Adaware, it will detect Spyware and remove it from your computer. Get it here;

From THIS site:
"The most widespread version of this technology is a program called TopText. TopText comes bundled with the popular file-sharing programs KaZaa & iMesh, as well as several other freeware programs".
And, from THIS THREAD in the PC911 Forum.
KaZaa is bad news...but, it's your computer.

I heard my name mentioned in here so thought I would give an update. Ezula is still doing the same old thing, The only things that have changed is that there are many more doing the same thing. Theftware/Spyware is riding piggy back on almost all the most popular downloads.
I would still suggest lavasoft adaware, keep in mind that like an anti-virus it is only as good as the updated ref files. It is a good idea to check back every couple of weeks, or purchase the version that does it for you.
You would also be surprised at the auto-dowloads that you get from places like Gator and IGetnet, If you keep up with the new updates these will be removed also. If you are up to it downlaod another spyware killer called "Spybot -Search & Destroy" I use both .
