I am going to wipe and partition my new dell 733 xpsB. I want to know if I should go with fat 16 or 32 and what can I expect to happen.

I had fat 16 when I first got my system, 4-2GB partitions. I finally got brave and a few months ago, fdisked, and made one large C drive for my whole 8.4GB. It is a big improvement. If you stay with fat 16, there is a 2GB limit on partition size.

Omega: Besides the size limit on partitions that Ginny spoke of, FAT32 also uses disk space more efficiently. FAT16, on a 2GB partition, creates a cluster size of 32K so even a 1K file takes up 32K of disk space. FAT32, on the other hand, creates a cluster size of 4K regardless of the partition size so utilization of disk space is better.......

While it may seem instantaneous, the speed of dark is actually 186,000 miles, per second.
