Can not locate a fire wire slot on my mimension 5100

Possibly because you don't have one unless you added it. 5100 did not come with a firewire port. http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim5100/en/sm/specs1.htm#wp1097431

Search in digital life. I've helped a few people install them. They're pretty easy to install so don't worry.:smileyhappy:
