Formatting Hard Drive

i understand a dim 8400 has its own image that would reload the original configuration

that it had the 1st time it was shipped, but entirely formatting the hard drive WILL earse

even those partitions to where this utility is stored... if your pc was hit by a virus or spywares

i would recommend to have it reformatted and install a fresh new copy of windows xp

make sure you have all the cds with you befored doing so (driver installation cds and softwares, even the winxp cd of course)

but when in doubt, don't do it first...:smileyhappy:

 Have you tried using the Dell's PC Restore utility on the hard drive, that restores the system to factory condition.

You format the hard drive as part of reinstalling XP.
