f_panel pin outs
Model DCSLF Vostro 200 Slim Tower...am replacing mobo and f_panel connector doesn't match new mobo. I'll replace the 10-pin berg connector (which is only populated with 3 pairs) with singles but the manual doesn't detail what wire colors provide what function. I don't have original mobo to see if it indicates the pin outs. I figure 2 wires for switch, 2 for HD LED and 2 for PWR LED but would appreciate some help with the details. Thx...

Dell does not usually make the front panel connections available. On many, Dell uses a proprietary and undocumented connection. You will have to take an ohmmeter and trace out the connections.

thx for the reply but the front panel module is molded such that tracing is not possible...module is asus wn097 and includes standard cable for 2 usb ports, standard cable for front panel audio and a third gang with 10 pin berg connector (with only the 3 pairs populated for power switch, pwr led and hd led). If anyone has one of these, it is probably printed on the mobo what the pin outs are. The connector is similar to usb tho usb is plugged on pin 9. This is plugged on pin 10. It is populated on pins 1-6, empty on 7-9 and plugged on 10.

About your only hope is to repost this on the Desktop General Hardware section (where this post should have been initially). That is where others post looking for pin outs, although to be truthful I don't think you will have much luck.
