GX200 Screen Resolution

Have just purchased a second user Dell GX200. It came with a 10GB hard disk and a Dell CD-ROM disk. I used the CD-ROM disk to test that the pc worked. It loaded Windows 2000 Professional onto the hard disk (the Windows label with the registration number was on the pc ). The pc worked without any problem.

However, I didn't want the 10G drive or Windows 2000. I wanted to move two much bigger hard drives with Windows 98 SE from my old Dell GX1 to the better GX200. Everything has transferred okay, and the pc works, but with one problem - I seem to be stuck with the screen resolution at absolute minimum and 16 colours. My Dell 17 inch monitor is a bit of a waste. I have tried using Control Panel/Display, but it refused to raise the resolution. I also tried reloading the monitor driver, but the pc says the present setup is better.

Any suggestions?
