GX240 - USB2

Hi all,

I've got a few GX240's running XP Pro (SP2), however none seem to recognise the USB ports as USB2, so the external HD's attached running dog slow.

Is there anywhere I can get these drivers/updates? or anyother advise?.

Cheers

The Optiplex GX240 was released before USB 2.0 was available, so the system does not have any USB 2.0 ports. Your best bet would be to get a USB 2.0 PCI card.

Will have to ad a card cause your default config doesn't have usb2 ports installed:
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/opgx240/en/ug/specs.htm#1112548 - two USB-compliant connectors on the back I/O panel; two on the front panel

If it was 2 it would state usb2 on the controller and the port.

Hello, I have a question about the USB capabilities in the GX240 as well. My machine has 4 USB ports (2 in the front and 2 in the back), and as far as I know they are all USB 1.1. However, the only ones that have ever worked are the two in the back. I saw from another post that someone else had this same experience. Does anyone know why?

And this may be off-topic, but I have a Dell 19" Flatscreen LCD monitor that has 2 USB ports and these have never worked either. Any idea how to get these ports working?
