Hard drive

Question

Question, I am started to keep more photo's on my system, I don't want to take over the whole hard drive doing this: Should I get another hard drive just for the photo's or should I split the exisitng harding allow so much for photo's and the rest of the hard drive for other stuff. I have as 40 GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive

40 gigs can hold alot of pictures a pictures is what? less than a megabyte? 1,024 Kilobyte (KB) = 1 Megabyte (MB) 1,073,741,824 Bytes = 1 Gigabyte (GB) 1 Gigabyte (GB) = 1,024 Megabyte (MB)

NIKICOLA. Please post the computer model and version of windows.  Yes, you really need to install a larger HD as the 40gb is too small for what you are proposing. Bev.

Why keep the photos on the hard drive,you should put them on a cd, if you ever lose your hard drive you lose everything.It can happen even if your hard drive is ok you can have problems with your os and then you will need to reformat your hard drive and reinstall windows xp, then you lose everything Message Edited by Robert Moyer on 08-30-2004 04:41 AM
