All,

The part (KU128 Liquid Cooling Assembly, XPS H2C) itself is not available for sale anywhere.

I was told it could be purchased from Dell Spare Parts months ago.  I was quoted a price of $500.95  I am pretty sure Another member here upgraded his XPS710 with one.  It is an absolute shame if Dell will not allow us to upgrade our upgradable computers through them when they use proprietary connections and make the ONLY upgradable parts for our system.  That is plain wrong if Dell has changed their policy.

I did not purchase it at the time since I still have a XPS 700 mobo and didn't want to waste monet on an almost identical 710 board.  I was considering ading it to the next mobo when it comes out(if it will fit).  I certainly hadn't decided for sure to do so, but it is the principle that upsets me.  I made a post on another thread defending Dell to someone who said Dell NEVER listens to their customers.  I stated that I have seen a real attempt from Dell to listen over the past 6 months.  The overwhelming constant seems to be that high end customers want options.  If Dell hasn't heard that by now they NEVER will.  What possible reason is there to NOT sell this part.  It is already $100-200 overpriced when compared to top quality cooling systems available for retail.  All customers have ALREADY purchased a XPS700/710 withing the past year.  Dell would both make a profit and keep the customer happy.  There is NO VALID reason for Dell not to sell this to ALL XPS 700/710 owners.  Just when I thought Dell was starting to listen to their customers...:smileymad:

I hope Chris was simply mistaken about this as I was told months ago we would be able to purchase this from Dell Spare Parts.  Chris could you please confirm this and perhaps share why Dell would not sell an upgrade to the "UPGRADABLE" computer most of us are still paying for?  Thanks.

500 bucks for a cpu cooler, why not just save the money to buy a faster processor later.  It sounds  unpracticle.  plus it just uses more power.

BTY, gateway also offers the QX OC'ed @ 3.2, I don't think they use some system like dell.   anyways, H2C appears to be over kill IMO since gateway OCs theirs to the same speed without any special heatsink electro do-hicky.  Don't get me wrong, it is cool, but what a waste of money when a standard high-end copper heatsink will do the job.

It does and I mean it really works like they said it will and I think in summer it will prove to be very useful. I wish I had something similar for the PWS 690.
