HELLLLP with USB 2.0 drivers?

I cannot setup my new printer using my current USB, which is 3 years old, and is probably USB 1.0. Do I need to upgrade my USB drivers to 2.0? My Dell Dimension 3000 uses Win-XP. and is 5 months old. IF I need to upgrade, where do I find the correct driver for my Dimension 3000? I searched support.dell.com, and found nothing for Dimension 3000.
