I have/use an XPS 8300, and although I have not tried to install a R7 260X card in it, I have learned that the 8300 can be 'fussy' when upgrading the GPU. Some of the things to check are that the physical install was done properly (ie. six pin power plug connected if there is one), that the previous video drivers were deleted prior to the new install, that the MB is/was updated with the latest BIOS version (A06), that the new video card is not defective and that the PSU is capable of supporting the new card. If all looks as it should, it may be that the new card is not compatible with the 8300. I have had great results with the Radeon 6000 series video cards, and no luck at all with any of the 7000 series cards I've tried. YMMV...
I have the same issue. Has anyone gotten this card to work in the 8300?
I tried my R7 -260x on a different Dell system and it also didn't work until I upgraded the PSU to an "Antec" 500W unit, then the card worked fine. I put the Antec supply into my XPS 8300 with the R7- 260x with no luck.(system would not boot) The power supply works fine with the original HD 6450. It looks like the motherboard does not support the R7 card. :(
I think next time I'll build a custom system like I've always done.

I used GTX 550 Ti before and it works, Can it be a PSU issue?
What should I do??????????????:emotion-6: I can't believe DELL doesn't support R7 260X.
Just Update my BIOS from A04 to A06 :C it's doesn't work.
