How do I enable AHCI mode?

Please help me, I would like to enable AHCI mode in BIOS settings and I don't know how to : /  my system is the dell studio slim 540s. If I can't why does Dell block you from changing that setting?

Hi Mr_xafee,

I don't see any place in the BIOS to change the controller mode. What type of storage controller is showing in control panel?

Also the AHCI is part of your SATA type drives if your system is capable of SATA then you also have AHCI

There is no option to change AHCI options in your bios.

Thank you very much, so may i ask, I have SATA ATA mode selected in my BIOS and if I have AHCI mode why can't I change it in system bios, are you able to implement that as an update?

Hi Mr_xafee,

I don't see any place in the BIOS to change the controller mode. What type of storage controller is showing in control panel?

Do you mean in device manager?

Cause it has a collaspse menu that says > IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers

then when i click that menu to expand - it shows ATA Channel 0 - ATA Channel 0 - ATA Channel 1 - ATA Channel 1 - Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller - Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller (Note the " - " sign means its a new line in the expanded menu)

There should be an option to change the controller mode I'm very upset I can't change it in the BIOS...
