How to add second HDD to boot sequence
Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to add the second HDD (D:) to the boot sequence? I would like to be able to place it before the first drive (C:) in the boot sequence, but at the moment it is not even in the list.
Details:
Dell Dimension 8300, BIOS A05, Windows XP
From the BIOS Setup menu (F2 on startup):
Drive Config says:
SATA Primary - Hard Drive
SATA Secondary - Hard Drive
Primary Master - OFF
Primary Slave - OFF
Secondary Master - OFF
Secondary Slave - OFF
IDE Drive UDMA - ON
Under Hard-disk Drives the list shows:
- Unknown (not installed)
- System BIOS boot devices
- USB device (not installed)
and Boot Sequence:
- Diskette
- IDE CD-ROM
- Hard-Disk Drive C:
I have tried the up/down arrows in the lists but no other entries are shown. There are definitely two physical hard drives. If I go straigtht to the boot menu on startup (F12) the second SATA drive appears in the list. But I would like to make the change permanent.
I have searched extensively, but not found an answer to this specific problem. Thanks for any help/links/instructions!
