HUGE DELL PRECISION M90 EXPRESSCARD PROBLEM
Hi,
I have a huge problem. I have bought the Belkin F5U506
Firewire USB2 combo Expresscard for the Precision M90.
If the card is installed then the computer does not boot anymore
in to the Win XP SP2 OS.
If I install the card when the computer is in the Windows XP SP2 OS
state then the card is corectly recognized and installed but when
I start to use the firewire devices with it like for example
TC Powercore firewire or the RME Fireface 800 the computer
always locks or chrashes. Please know that such devices work excelent
in the onboard M90 firewire port without any issues.
I have done tests with BIOS A4 and A5 and the problem is always the same.
It looks that M90 bios is stil not programed in accordance to be compatibile with the
Expresscard slot devices because the computer never boots into the
Win XP SP2 when the Belikin Expresscard is present in the slot.
I have now card for three months and I stil can not use it.
I have also bought the second ST Lab combo Expresscard and the problem
is the same.
Why Dell precision M90 has the Expresscard slot if such slot is stil not
usable?
Can the Dell release the new BIOS in order that the Expresscard
slot shall become usable?
