I deleted Adobe!!!!

I deleted the Adobe on my computer. I really don't want to explain my logic in doing this...because it would just take tooooo long to explain. I have Acrobat Reader 5 on my hard drive. When I realized that I can no longer open Adobe PDF files, I went to the Adobe website and downloaded Adobe Studio...and I still can't open PDF files. Can Dell just e-mail me the download for Adobe that was preloaded on my Dell at the factory?

Also...the clock on computer looses time. I've done the syncronize with the internet thing....but it didn't help.

Can you help me? I feel like such an idiot!!!

You need to download and install the Adobe Acrobat Reader. Adobe studio is not the same thing. The only place you can get the Acrobat Reader is at the Adobe web site. As for the problem with the clock, see if the following helps:

Thank you for your quick response....I have Acrobat Reader 5.0 on my hard drive is it the same as the Adobe Acrobat Reader that you are suggesting?

Also....when I go to download the fix for the clock...in red letters it says I must be logged on to a system that is a Computer Administrator????

I really appreciate your help.

Bondo2,

If possible, do as haaba01 has suggested and see if you can recover whatever it was you deleted from the recycle bin. If that fixes the problem, great. If not, then we need some more information. You say that you have Acrobat Reader 5.0 on your hard drive. What was exactly that you deleted. You can still have a folder for Acrobat Reader, but if you deleted any files in this folder, that it is likely that Arcrobat Reader will not run. Thus, you should download and reinstall Acrobat Reader from the Adobe web site.

As for help with Windows XP, I can't be of much, since I do not have that version of Windows. In your situation, however, the first thing I would do is consult the help files on your computer. I am sure you can find out how to log out and log back in as the system administrator.

Whatever you just deleted (Adobe) run over to the Recycle Bin located on your desktop and pull out the deleted program by restoring it back.

I deleted this not long after my father's death. That was in January. I have emptied the recycle bin.

As I told hahaha, I deleted Adobe not long after the death of my father. Before I deleted it, I was at the website for the IRS, trying to figure out what form I would need to file my father's taxes. I found the form and downloaded it....then printed it with no problems. It was in a PDF form. This was all in January. I'm just now dealing with this because I've tried to download and print an enrollement form for my daughter's prescriptions. I can't remember what I deleted. I just remember looking at my C drive...I saw two Adobe files. I didn't think I needed two...so deleted it. That's when I went to www.adobe.com and downloaded Adobe Studio....I guess I thought this would fix the mess I got myself into...but it hasn't. In my program files I have Acrobat Reader 5.0 and Adobe Studio. Perhaps I should delete both of these and start over with a download from the adobe sight? Here's what's at the Adobe site...which one should I choose to download. Are these full versions or just the type you evaluate for a while , then buy the full version? I'm so sorry for the confusion.

No problem. Go to the http://www.adobe.com site and download acrobat reader again. Sometimes you are missing an "active X" control that is neded to link to the internet. You can find the answer in the acrobat help files if this happens to you. The culpret might be Adobe Photo Delux. Uninstall it, download Acrobat and then reloaded Adobe Photo Delux.

Bondo2,
This link will take you to Adobe Reader. That is what you need to read .PDF files.
