IE 5.5 Start Page Problem

Question

All of a sudden when I open IE I'm taken to a page other than the one I've specified as my start page. I go in and input the page I want under Internet Options and all is well as long as I don't reboot the system. If I reboot, this other page is "relisted" as the start page and I have to go back in, delete it and put in the other page. Even stranger is that this "new page" removes my links from the Links Bar and adds several other ones to the bar.Anyone ever run into this? Any suggestions to fix would be great!

There are several programs that hijack your start page and make other undesirable changes to your system. What is the URL of the new start page that is being inserted?

One way to get rid of many of these programs is to run AdAware, a spyware removal utility which you can download from here.

It looks like the gohim.com junk. Follow the directions at the following link: http://www.gohip.com/remove_browser_enhancement.html

As Denny Suggested you should also download adaware 5.6 from lavasoftusa.com and remove any other spyware you have on your system.
