Internet Explorer 6

Why am I having so much trouble installing ie6 on my system? If I use Typical installation it will get to 64% installed and then stop. If I use custom installation and only install the real basics I can get to 91% but never 100%.

Thank you for you message but unfortunately not quite right for my problem. My system just hangs but does not return any error messages.

The same thing could be causing your problem even if you are not getting any error messages. If you have hundreds of 0 byte .inf files in your Windows\Inf folder, then this is the problem. You can also look at the following:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q281967

Again, even if you don't get an error message, check to see if these 0 byte files are there.

I did eventually get this problem solved. After a lot of hunting around I finally found an internet explorer help file that did the trick. Try this link:
