Internet Explorer Error Message
Helping a friend out...when trying to view a webpage via Internet Explorer, she get's the error message "Page Cannot Be Displayed" etc, etc... There's also this reference on the very top....
res://C:\Windows\system\SHDOCLC.DLL/dnserror.htm
IE does not allow her to view any webpage whatsoever. What does that error message mean? How can we correct the problem?
Thanks!

I have a sneaky feeling that Internet explorer is trying to look for an off-line page which is also possibly the same page as your 'home' page, and hence it is looking on the C drive.
Log on to the net, click on home, and then try and save this page for viewing off-line. You should no longer have this problem.
I hope this solves the problem, now I just need to solve my IRQ USB problem.

While I don't have an answer for your problem, it appears that it is a known problem: see
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q243/7/12.ASP
They reference almost the exact problem that you have. Their solution isn't very satisfying, though.

If you are sure that the URL you are attempting to access exists, you should contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider) for assistance with troubleshooting your connection.
