internet explorer problem
In a nut shell....my son deleted something that should not have been. Beats the hell out of me what he did!! I had to re-install windows ME. Now I cannot get online with internet explorer and it is not in the add/remove program list. I can however get online using the explorer address bar when I go to "my computer" and do some limited surfing. I checked my cds and don't seem to have one just for internet explorer. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you go to Add/Remove programs in Control Panel, are you sure Internet Explorer is not in the list - it is usually listed as Microsoft Internet Explorer. If it is in the Add/Remove list under M, then click on Remove and it will give you the option to repair Internet Explorer.
If none of these options work, then you will either have to reformat and reinstall Windows ME, get Microsoft to send you version 6 of Intenet Explorer om CD (cost ~$10 for shipping and handling), or find another computer on which you can download the full installation of Internet Exploration, copy it to a CD ROM and then install it on your computer.

I think it would be best to try to obtain a newer copy of IE to install, as I suggested in my last reply, but if you want to format and reinstall, the instructions for formatting are at:

and the instructions for reinstallation are at:
