Keyboard Issues

Greetings, I seem to have encountered a bit of an issue with my wireless keyboard. It's a Dell brand one, that came with the computer a few years back. I can't find the exact model number, but it's just the standard Dell brand wireless keyboard/mouse combination, just an older model I would assume.

But, earlier tonight, I went to change the batteries in it, as it was showing up as having low batteries. After putting in the batteries, though, it seems to have shifted the keys around. I can't really make any sense of it, as far as there being a pattern or anything. The 'p' key now types 'w', though, just for example.

The mouse is still working fine, and I just pulled out an older corded keyboard as a backup. I tried to search back to see if it was a common problem or something, but didn't find anything.

Hopefully someone might have some ideas here, because I'm stumped on this one.

My best guess is the battery change cause the keyboard's processor to have a minor hiccup.  Try removing the batteries and leave them out overnight.  The next morning, reinstall the batteries and then see if it corrected the problem.

Well, that was easy enough.

I had tried just taking them out and putting them back in at first, but it didn't seem to do anything. I guess they just had to be out for awhile.

Thanks for the help!

You're welcome.  Glad to hear the problem was resolved.

You could have also tried hitting the connect button on the bottom of the keyboard.  I have run into similar issues with my wireless keyboard where it would get a bit flaky after putting in new batteries and simply hitting the connect button works everytime.
