LOGITECH G11 KEYBOARD PROBLEMS

I RECENTLY PURCHASED A LOGITECH G11 KEYBOARD AND TRIED TO INSTALL IT ON MY DELL GEN 5 XPS SYSTEM. MY OLD KEYBOARD IS A WIRELESS MODEL(MADE BY LOGITECH) THAT I BOUGHT WITH THE SYSTEM. THE NEW KEYBOARD IS USB. THE SYSTEM RECOGNIZES THE KEYBOARD AND SAYS IT IS INSTALLED AND READY TO USE. WELL IT ISN'T : THE ALPHA AND NUMERIC KEYS DO NOT WORK. IT HAS ILLUMINATING, AND SPECIAL FUNCTION KEYS THAT DO WORK WHEN PLUGGED IN. OKAY HERE'S THE REST OF THE STORY, WHEN I REBOOT IT SAYS KEYBOARD ERROR, I'VE UPDATED JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING ON THE  DELL DOWNLOADS PAGE AND STILL THE SAME PROBLEM EXISTS, ALSO I'VE TRIED THE NEW KEYBOARD ON ANOTHER COMPUTER AND I GET THE SAME RESULTS.

ANY SUGGESTIONS? PLEASE
THANK YOU

Sync the keyboard during system power on? I think your Caps lock key is broken too?

The G-series keyboards are infamous for driver issues , make sure you uninstall and reinstall everything and be positive its right, also , not sure if your running Vista but there was a few problems with slidebars needing to be disabled while gaming.

Did you install the special keyboard driver that should have been on a disc in the box.?

Well you should get the latest driver on the web anyway with all new peripherals.

Go to the tech suport link on the top of the page enter your service code and see if there any updates for your system  The bios version that you are using should come on your screen at start up  if a newer one is avaliable try it
