Low free system resources!!!
I just got one of Dell's new XPS T600MHz Systems with 128MB, SDRAM and I am getting warnings about not having enough free resources, which states that I need to shut down some of my programs!!!!???? I only had my internet software and the pre-installed startup programs running!!! When I went to Performance Tab under System Properties I find that I only have 44% free system resources while this Earthlink Internet software is running. My computer stops responding frequently and I am becoming more and more irritated! HELP Please
I got this config with all that SDRAM so that I could run what I liked. Thanks for any help you can give me!
EVEN My old Sony 200MMX with 96MB of EDO RAM and WIN98 SE upgrade never gave me such warnings! It's resources never got below 80%!

Do a MSCONFIG and find out what is running in the background and eliminate these resource hogs. Go to start button, click RUN and type in MSCONFIG
Then go to start up tab and you'll see all the items checkmarked there are loading and running in the background continuously from boot up. You can get rid of most of them (except systray and explorer) without any problems. You can always access any of these programs the usual way through the programs menu.
If you have questions as to which can be unchecked, post the list here and someone will help.
