I just bought my Inspiron 530 last month (it was a month ago today.) I've used a microphone in it before, and I haven't had a problem..until tonight.

First, I plug my headset in, and nothing works. Not even after turning up the volume on it does sound come out. So I borrow my mom's and I plug it in, and it says it's plugged in, then unplugged then plugged in.

 

I have checked both of the ports (front and back) with my speakers, and I have no problems as far as that goes. Any help, please? I've heard nothing but good things about Dell, I don't want this to prove me wrong.
