Missing or Corrupted files -- WONT BOOT
I have a Dell 4300 with a 1.6 GHz processor. While the computer was turned on and not in use the following message was displayed.
Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupted:
:WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM
You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the Original Setup CD-ROM. Select "R" at the first screen to start repair.
NOTE: The files are not able to be repaired...System cannot be booted in the SAFE mode..
I am afraid to reinstall the Operating system for fear of losing all my files...Any WORK around to restore the files?
