MS Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 Problem
I have recently purchased and installed an MS Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 to my Dell Dimension 8200, running WinXP-Home edition.
The problem I am experiencing is as follows: Using the "Mouse Properties" dialog window, I assign a certain function to one of the 5 buttons, and apply this assignment. The button works as assigned, but after I either logoff or restart the computer, the button assignment is lost every time and I have to reassign for the subsequent session. In summary, I just can't seem to make the button assignments stick. I have looked on the Microsoft Support website and there are no published problems/solutions for this issue.
Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated

I had the same problem. There is a fix just hard to find........ http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q302483
One thing......stay with the 3.0 software.......the newset/updated 4.0 is awful, lots of problems......I had it and went back to 3.0, did this fix and all my buttons and features work properly and consistenly.
Although it addresses the registry, it is simple, clear and works.
Post back results and if this doesn't work, try the keyboard/mouse forum specifically.
good luck,
