my computer is really slow after loading WIN 98 2ed
I just recently upgraded my dell dimension pII 192mb 20gig with windows 98 2ed and instead of making the computer run faster it really slows everything up. Every once in a while the mouse will freeze for a second then continue moving or when i try and minimize a screen the screen will freeze for a second then finally minimize. I have gone into msconfig and shut off alot of startup programs and i also downloaded memwatcher which is supposed to help restore the systems unused memory. Unfortunately, all this has not made a significant difference in my systems performence. When i was running windows 95 my computer was faster...please if anyone knows anything reply to this.

Press CTRL-ALT-DELETE all at the same time and post what is running on your system.
I will guess that you have many more things running in the background than you need, and this is causing your freezes.
Also, you may find that an upgrade of Windows is not as good as a "Clean Install" of Windows. You can find out more about this on my site and on the web.
