My computer is really slow

Go to Start\Run and type MSCONFIG.  Click Startup tab an uncheck all items except for your antivirus and firewall (you can recheck the other items later without harming the PC).  Reboot PC.  Right click My Computer\Properties\Advanced\Performance Settings\Advanced\Virtual Memory Change and click on SYSTEM MANAGED SIZE.  Apply and reboot PC.

Also download Spybot and install it.  Update the spyware definition file and scan for spyware in your PC.  Finally, if you don't have an antivirus software with the most current virus definition file, then remove the old antivirus software and download the free version of Avast Home.  Let Avast Home update the virus definition file and scan the PC for virus infection.

thank you for your help. I changed all the setting and downloaded spybot. I do have a question about spybot

It found 135. But it didn't remove all of them. The ones it did not remove is newsnet. Is there any reason why it

would not remove the last 7. They were checked.

Try running the program in SAFE mode.  Another program may be using the spyware.  You can also look for the spyware program under the ADD/REMOVE program screen of Windows.

You can also download Ad Aware.  Same procedure.

Thank you for your help I was just going to ask you about ad-aware. So either one is okay.

I did have ad aware on my computer at one time.

I would also clean up IE's temporary internet files and history.  Run Disk CleanUp by checking ALL options.  Reboot PC and defrag the hard drive.
