Need Windows ME files
Hopefully, this is the "correct" forum for this question!
I have a Dell Dimension 4100 running Windows ME. I want to install a Plantronics headset, but when attempting to do so, I am prompted for Windows ME drover files from a directory called WINDOWS\OPTIONS\CABS. The files are not on the Dell Windows ME reinstallation disk nor on the Dell resources disk. Unfortunately, they are also not downloadable from Microsoft.
Since the Dell version of Windows ME is "proprietary" (their modified version of Windows ME), does this mean that I will have to go out and purchase an original version of Windows ME from Microsoft to obtain the needed files?
Thank you for your help!

Dell's version of ME is not proprietary. The files which may be located in C:\Windows\Options\Cabs are the same file which are on your ME reinstallation CD in the win98 folder. If the prompt for the driver installation allows you to browse for a source, you should point the installation utility at that folder.
