New videocard
Hi,
Last week my videocard (radeon 9800 pro) broke down, and now im looking for a new one. I got my eye on an asus ax800xt:
(dutch, but the specs are obvious i think)
My question is:
Can i put this is my dimension 8300 ?
I mainly worry about my 250w power supply. Can i just put in another powersupply, or only one by dell ?
My 9800pro probably broke down because it overheated, my soundcard was in the slot right onder my agp videocard :(
Any comment/suggestion is welcome,
Bassieee

I know some X800 models don't use more power then the 9800. But I'm not sure which ones.. I really can't see why you should need a power supply by dell. Just make sure it will fit physically. But then again, I'm no expert.

I'm looking to upgrade my dell 8300 as well and am concerned about the psu too. I put up a thread about this and everyone that has replied has stated that for a 8300 with my 250w psu, I should be able to run a 6600 gt agp card easy enough. Also, two members that had 250w psu systems said they were using the x800 xl card from ATI with no problems.
Personally I was trying to push it with a 6800 gt card but think now that I'm going to settle with a 6600 gt card - probably BFG or Gigabyte but havent' decided yet.
Hope this helps.
