no audio device??
i don't know what i did but my computer wont play any sound, all it does is beep at me. i'll go into music match to play songs and it says WaveOut format not supported. i've went into help and support and everything. i checked my sound and audio device properties and it says i have no audio device, and i can't change anything in any of the catagories because none of the options or highlighted. i had sound before and i guess i may have deleted something, but i wasn't sure if there is any way i can restore it without having to completly reinstall windows...and i'm not even sure if that will work.
if anyone knows how to fix this problem, please help.

Hi,
In the case that you mentioned, it is possible that the drivers for the sound card you have are corrupt. So you need to download the latest drivers and install them on your computer. You can go to http://support.dell.com , select the option for Home and home Users, then to Downloads and Drivers and then choose the system you have, you will have a list of different devices, click on the plus(+) sign next to audio devices and under that all the sound cards that Dell ships along with your computer would be listed. If you are using the sound card integerated on the system board, it will be ADI 198X driver that you need to download, otherwise you can choose to download the driver for the respective sound card you have. Install the package you download as per the instructions given on the website. This should resolve the issue.
