No Audio Device

I've been trying the suggestions on the forum, but I can't fix the problem.  It says the drivers are installed but I still get "No Audio Device" even after reloading the utilities disks.  Any help would be great.

I have the same issue, my computer can not see my SoundMAX integrated Digital Audio device. I have updated the drivers with no success. I bought aDiamond 5.1 sound card, installed the drivers on the CD provided and my Windows XP system does not see this card either. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

This didn't help.  I don't have a system and security tab.  It's either system or security.  I can't find the device manager to try and fix the problem in either of those two areas.  Any other ideas?

I'm thinking it's a "ghost" device that is taking up resources needed by the SoundMax driver.

This link explains how to show them so they can be deleted: smallvoid.com/.../winnt-ghost-devices.html
