No audio output device!?!?!?

Ok, me and my roommate were both drying our hair and listening to music (from the computer) and BAM!  We blew a fuse.  Well my speaker have not worked since.  When I go to the control panel and open up  the sound option it tells me that there is no audio output device!  Well I have 2 speakers and 1 subwoofer to say otherwise, but I hear nothing!  I hear beeps and noises coming from the actual computer but nothing from the speakers except when I unplug them and plug them back in I can hear like a microphone sound, thats it!  Someone please help me!:smileysad:

computer_dummy81,

So you have the speakers plugged into the green jack on the back of the PC, correct? Do you have some headphones to plug into that green jack to check for sound? Are those Dell speakers?

go to the drivers and downloads on the right of this forum . then  select system configuration, type in your service tag #  let the system configuration run... system config will tell u all the hardware installed on your PC.. then when u know what sound card u have  , u can reinstall the drive , u should have gotten a sound card driver disk  when u received your PC .. or at least a a disk with all drivers for your PC when u received it from Dell
