no keyboard/mouse

I am trying to fix a friend's problem here (really!). She has a Dimension 8300 (Windows XP Pro) with the wireless mouse and keyboard. She started having problems with the mouse and somehow ended up deleting the driver. The problem is I think she deleted ALL the keyboard/mouse drivers as no wired keyboards/mouse work either. Strangely, the hotkeys (back, forward, home, etc) work but nothing else on the keyboard works.

There may be a simple solution to this but how does one reinstall the drivers or the OS with no mouse or keyboard?

Thanks

Additionally: we have gone thru all the steps that the Dell CSR gave us to no avail. I've tried reinstailling XP by booting from the CDROM drive but get stopped when they require input from a mouse or keyboard. Keyboard and mouse work in setup and boot menu.

Thanks

For good measure I'd like to add that Dell customer "service" is truly evil, akin to a Stalinist bureaucracy.
