Nvidia control panel... refresh rate overrides? Safe to do?

I was reading through the Dell documentation, http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/video/P82192/en/usage.htm and saw where it says you can override the default refresh rates (I have Dell 1905FP).

Is this safe to do? I'm running in the native res 1280x1024, and the only refresh rate that shows now is 60hz~ I would prefer to have it at least 75hz.

sorry, thought I had mentioned that... must have been my other post~

Anyway, yes... it's a DELL 1905FP monitor~ (my first). Just wondering, if 60hz is normal on these monitors, why have I read around that you should not run a monitor below 75hz? Something about it being hard on your eyes~? Is there something different with a flat panel where this isn't the case?

LCD's are very different than CRT's that need higher hz above 65 in order to note have eye stain.  LCD's only need 60 hz and mine has been so for over three years.  You won't have a problem with this.  The article below will also give you some more information as to the LCD's over the CRT's

heh - you've gotten used to it, Tallbballman21!

I bought my first lcd (the Dell Digital 1503 with my Dim8200) back in 2001. In January, I donanted the 8200/15"lcd to my 5yr-old and splurged on a Dell 1905 lcd when I built my ASUS rig. But for a short while before getting the 19" lcd, I used a Dell 19" Trinitron (with the refresh rate @ 85 Hz like you read above), and after playing games for about 3 hours - my eyes felt fried, as though I had been staring at the sun! I boxed it up within minutes of getting the new lcd, and I'll never go back again! But anywho - the refresh rate on lcd's doesn't need to be set higher like the crt's used to. I work at night, and on the weekends I play a lot of BF2 and my eyes never feel strained even after long runs online (4-6 hrs).
